It was not long before Andrew Adonis, mounted his bike to the cycle storage facilities shall, at different stations in London when he is Secretary.

Andrew was only fifteen when he decided he wanted to work for British Rail, but he admits that it was not because he was particularly interested in the trains … rather, he strove to be president of the BR one days following the footsteps of Sir Peter Parker, chairman of the time!

It seems that the interests of Mr Adonis had more transportation logistics and operation of the system. Child he was interested in calendars and eventually became very interested in the fast train and how they can transform the connectivity of the British cities.

It was after a career in academia and journalism that Andrew ventured into politics after almost ten years focused on education. Prior to his current appointment, Mr Adonis was the Minister of Transport, where he was closely involved in the railways, especially as aviation, maritime and local transportation.

Three of the Secretary of clear priorities in order to increase transmission capacity in a sustainable manner, where the transport of carbon and combined forms of public transport is more efficient in

After a visit to several EU countries racing beaten in this area, Mr Adonis is very conducive to high speed trains in particular following the success of the reopening of St Pancras in 2007, when High Speed One is made and the Two High Speed seems to be on the cards with a decision on how to proceed with the North-South, the fast line to be completed.

As aviation is recognized that a large proportion of the population flies regularly, though less busy airports and more flights would be welcome.

It seems a less costly and less controversial project would be to increase capacity of the highway through the shoulder and the Secretary of State has admitted to be somewhat surprised that tests drivers on the M42 seem to indicate that the use of industrial accidents in hard-shoulder is severely reduced. It seems his mind was changed somewhat, but after discussions with police and Highways Agency staff who said that regular garages, better management of the highway in general, including the use of video surveillance and the need for emergency vehicles to get all motorists to help improve overall security.

With regard to the low carbon transport, in July the government published the carbon reduction strategy, which a number of long-term challenges, such as cars, vans and buses and the electrification of the railway. At the climate conference in Copenhagen in December the government also looking for an international consensus for the aviation and shipping within a broader agreement on climate change.

Finally, Mr Adonis sees his task is to set clear priorities for action to develop and forge a sense of shared effort and seems confident in his department.
